Deepika Padukone movies have always been a hit with the audience due to her charismatic personality and good acting.

Om Shanti Om (2007)

Deepika Padukone started her career in Om Shanti Om opposite Shahrukh Khan in 2007. This movie was a blockbuster at the box office. She played the character of a successful actress, Shanti Priya, in the movie, who is in love with a movie producer, Mukesh Kumar(Arjun Rampal). She wants to marry him because she is pregnant, but he has no intentions of doing so. On the other hand, Shahrukh Khan’s character, Omi Makhija, who lives in a chawl with his mother Bela, is a big fan of Shantipriya. He and his friend Pappu Master do small roles in movies. While shooting for one movie, Shantipriya becomes trapped in a fire, so Omi saves her life. Mukesh Kumar has plans to kill Shanti Priya and takes her to the isolated set of the movie Om Shanti Om. He tells her that he wants to marry the daughter of the distributor of this movie. He ignites the set to burn Shantipriya alive and escapes. Omi tries to save her, but his efforts prove futile. He is injured and run over by the car of actor Rajesh Kapoor. Rajesh Kapoor takes Omi to the hospital, but he dies. This is a movie about reincarnation, and Omi is reborn as the son of Rajesh Kapoor, Om. He recalls his last life due to the help from Bela and Pappu and tries to bring justice to Shantipriya. How he does that and takes revenge on Mukesh Kapoor is an important part of this movie.

The movie earned 152 crores in the theater and made Deepika Padukone a star. She even received the Filmfare Award for Best Debut in a movie.

Cocktail(2012)

In this movie, Deepika plays the spoiled and lonely Veronica living in London, who picks up an Indian girl, Meera (Diana Penty), from Heathrow airport, whose husband, Kunal(Randeep Hooda)has deserted her. Veronica sees Meera crying and shelters her. She takes her to her home, where her live-in partner Gautam Kapoor (Saif Ali Khan) falls in love with her. Initially, Meera is unable to accept Gautam’s attraction towards her and tells him she is married. But he tells her that it’s her partner who is to blame and not her. Veronica is initially unable to accept that her friend Meera has duped and snatched Gautam away from her. However, in the end, she takes Gautam back to India to marry him to his love. Deepika’s performance in this movie was extraordinary. Her performance as the carefree yet kind-hearted Veronica was loved by people. This was one of the legendary Deepika Padukone movies. Chennai Express(2013)

Chennai Express is one of the epic Deepika Padukone movies.

In this movie, Deepika Padukone plays a South Indian woman, Meenamma, who is eloping on the train Chennai Express to escape a marriage. But she is caught by the goons sent by her father, who don’t understand Hindi. Luckily, she meets Shahrukh Khan’s character Rahul Mithaiwala on the train, who is going to Rameswaram to dip his grandfather’s ashes. She asks for help from him, and upon reaching her village, tells everyone that she loves him. Since Rahul does not understand Tamil, he does not know what she has told her father about him. Then she elopes with Rahul from her village to escape marriage with don Thangballi. Both Rahul and Meenamma fall in love on this journey. Then, they return to her village, and Rahul and Thangballi have a duel in which Rahul wins. Rahul, in the end, marries Meenamma with the permission of her father, Durgesh, who is a local mafia don. One of the most beautiful Deepika Padukone movies, this movie was her second outing with Shahrukh khan. The two actors had perfect comic timing between them. This movie earned 423 crores at the box office.

Yeh Jawani hai Deewani(2013)

This was a love story between Naina and Bunny. Naina is a studious student who is preparing for her medical exams. She wants to take a break and meets Aditi, her school friend, at a store. Naina’s mother does not approve of Aditi, but still she decides to go on an outing with her and her friends Bunny and Avi to Manali. She falls in love with Bunny(Ranbir Kapoor), who has ambitions of travelling all over the world. Soon, Bunny leaves them to work on an adventure TV program and becomes famous. Years later, when Aditi decides to get married, she invites all three of them, Naina, Avi and Bunny. Bunny and Aditi meet, and she is not able to forget her love for him. What happens next forms an important part of the story. Do Naina and Bunny part ways or decide to be together forever? This movie had a worldwide collection of 319 crores. It’s one of the most famous Deepika Padukone movies.

Piku (2015)

In Piku, Deepika plays the central character who is perplexed with the problems of her 90-year-old father, played by Amitabh Bachchan. He plays the character of Bhaskar Banerjee, who is a hypochondriac. He is always getting his medical tests done because he thinks he suffers from health issues.

In this movie, Piku gets into trouble because his father calls her at the office to complain about his bowel movements. He does not want his daughter to get married and wants her to be an independent woman. He wants her to take care of him in his old age. Soon, he wants to go to Calcutta, and Piku decides to take him along with the aid of the owner of a travel company, Rana Chaudhary, played by Irfan Khan.  This movie made 141 crores at the box office. This movie got Deepika Padukone the critical acclaim she always needed. One of her best performances in Deepika Padukone movies.

Padmavat(2018)

Padmavat is one of the most-watched movies featuring Deepika Padukone, where she portrays the legendary Rajput queen Padmavati of Chittor, who sacrificed her life by immolating herself, a tradition known as Sati, when her husband, Ratan Singh, died in a war against Alauddin Khilji. She does so to escape being caught as a prisoner of war by Khilji. She portrayed a character full of integrity. The movie begins when her character, as a princess of Singhala(now Srilanka), is out hunting deer in a forest. Her arrow hits King Ratan Singh, who fell in love with her and decided to get married. Ratan Singh recovers in her father’s palace and asks for her hand in marriage upon his recovery. Everyone in his kingdom of Chittor is all praises for her beauty and intelligence. But Alauddin Khilji (played by Ranveer Singh Bhavnani), who is portrayed as a tyrannical and cynical king of Delhi, hears about her mesmerising beauty and wants to catch a glimpse of her. He asks Ratan Singh to do so, but he does not oblige. The two kingdoms go to war, and Ratan Singh is killed due to the treachery of Khilji. When both of them are in a duel during the war, Khilji’s myrmidon Malik Kafur(Jim Sarbh)shoots Ratan Singh in the back, and he dies. The news of his death reaches his palace, and all the women commit Sati, including his 1^st wife and all their female servants. Khilji is unable to see Padmavati. This movie got a Filmfare award nomination for Best Actress for Deepika Padukone. Padmavat earned 943 crores in India and overseas collections. This movie earned the highest gross among all the Deepika Padukone movies. It had the perfect regal ambience, being directed by the master of such movies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
