Salman Khan is a big actor in Bollywood. He started his acting career by doing a movie, Biwi Ho To Aisi(1988), in which he had a small part.

Maine Pyar Kiya(1989)

One of Salman Khan best movies, Maine Pyar Kiya paired him opposite the newcomer Bhagyashree.

He started his career as a protagonist in 1989 with the blockbuster romantic movie Maine Pyar Kiya.

He plays Prem, the son of Mr Kishen, a billionaire. Kishen has a childhood friend, Karan(Alok Nath), who is going for a job abroad. He has nobody to take care of his daughter, Suman(Bhagyashree). He drops Suman at Kishen’s house. Prem and Suman fall in love due to Suman’s polite and calm nature. Prem’s father, however, opposes their love due to the class difference between him and his friend. So, Karan takes Suman home. But Prem comes there and wants to win Karan’s heart. Karan asks him to earn money on his own, and only then will he marry Suman to him. This movie was a pathbreaking movie by Sooraj Barjatya. It was a big hit. Salman Khan emerged as the romantic hero of the 1990s. It had earned 35 crores at the box office.

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun(1994)

Then he delivered a fine performance in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun(1994). It was one of Salman Khan best movies. This movie was a global hit. It ensured that people started watching movies all over again. Salman Khan (Prem)is the brother-in-law of Pooja (Renuka Shahane). He falls in love with her sister, Nisha(Madhuri Dixit). They have many romantic and flirtatious moments during the marriage ceremony of Rajesh and Pooja. But soon, Pooja dies, and Nisha is supposed to be married to Prem’s elder brother, Rajesh(Mohnish Bahl). However, Prem and Nisha love each other, which no one knows. Rajesh and Nisha are to be married, and somehow it is discovered at their marriage that Nisha loves Prem.

So, then Prem marries Nisha, and the couple decides to take care of Rajesh’s newborn son. This movie was a big family entertainer. This movie won the award for the best film at the National Awards. The movie was an amazing success due to its family-oriented theme and 14 songs. It had earned 165-170 crores at that time.

Karan Arjun(1995)

This movie was about two brothers, Karan and Arjun, who were murdered by Amrish Puri, Durjan Singh, who is their uncle, so that he could inherit Thakur’s wealth. Durjan has also killed Thakur to prevent him from passing on his wealth to these two brothers.  Then, in the second half of the movie, they are reincarnated to take revenge on Amrish Puri’s character. The movie had paired Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan and was a hit due to the subject of reincarnation.

Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam(1999)

The next movie in the line is Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam(1999), which paired him with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The movie was a big hit.

Biwi no.1 (1999)

This movie was a blockbuster. In this movie, the character of Prem cheats on his doting wife, Pooja (Karisma Kapoor). Prem runs an ad agency, and when he sees the beautiful model, Roopali Walia (Sushmita Sen), he starts liking her.  When Roopali gets to know that Prem is already married, she asks him about Pooja. He lies to her about Pooja. Soon, Pooja discovers both of them. Prem refuses to end his relationship with Roopali, and Pooja leaves his house. Soon, Prem’s best friend, Lakhan Singh(Anil Kapoor), teaches Pooja how to win her husband back. How Pooja gets her husband back and throws Roopali out of their house is the essence of this story. Biwi No. 1 made 49.81 crores at the box office. One of Salman Khan best movies, this movie was a huge success.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan(2015)

This movie saw Salman Khan playing a naïve Pawan who spots a mute Pakistani girl Shahida, in Kurukshetra. She starts following him as she has been separated from her mother. He takes her to Delhi, where he is going to find a job with his father’s friend Pandey. He does not know that Munni is Pakistani. During their bus journey, he tells her about different cities, but she shakes her head because she does not hail from anywhere. Since he does not know her name Shahida, he calls her Munni. At Pandey’s house, Munni does not like the vegetarian food, because she is a non-veg. Pandey is a devout Hindu who does not allow such food in his house.

Pandey’s daughter, Rasika(Kareena Kapoor), and Pawan take Munni to a non-vegetarian restaurant. Pawan also discovers that Munni is a Pakistani because she starts jumping with joy when Afridi scores runs in an Indo-Pak cricket match. Pawan, Pandey and all his family members are stunned at her behaviour. Pandey instructs Pawan to take her to Pakistan. Pawan goes to the Pakistani embassy, but they refuse to issue Munni a visa. He takes her to a visa agent, but he sells her at a brothel. Pawan finds out this and rescues Munni from the brothel. Then he decides to go to Pakistan without a visa. Pawan is a religious person who believes in Lord Hanuman and can’t lie. This causes a lot of problems for him and Munni in Pakistan. He has illegally entered Pakistan and keeps telling this to everyone who asks. He and Munni are soon arrested by the Pakistani police. They mistake him for an Indian spy. How Pawan discovers where Munni lives in Pakistan and drops her off at her parents is what the rest of the story is about. The movie was a big hit and created a new image for Salman Khan as a benevolent person.

This movie grossed 918 crore at the box office and is the highest-grossing Salman Khan best movies.

Sultan(2016)

This movie has shown Salman Khan playing a wrestler. Initially, Sultan does nothing in his life, but when he meets Anushka Sharma’s character, Aarfaa, he falls in love with her. Aarfaa rejects him, which inspires him to become a wrestler. Aarfaa’s father runs a wrestling training center, and Sultan enrols himself there. Sultan wins international medals for the country and gets married to Aarfaa. But when Aarfaa delivers his baby, he is weak and needs a blood transfusion. Since Sultan has a rare blood group, his baby does not survive because he does not return to India from an international wrestling match for a blood transfusion. Both Aarfaa and Sultan become estranged and start living separately.

Sultan still loves Aarfaa and wants to win her back, but she is angry at the loss of their baby. He has left wrestling since his baby died and works in an office. How Sultan wins back the love of Aarfaa and reunites with her can be seen in the movie. This movie was one of Salman Khan best movies due to his excellent performance as the sad Sultan who has lost his baby and wife.  This movie earned 589 crores at the box office.
