While 2025 has brought its share of challenges, it also promises exciting releases from Hollywood. Some of the best Hollywood movies of 2025 are yet to be released.
Avatar: Fire and Ash
One of them is Avatar, which is known for its grandeur in using VFX. The scale of these movies is unparalleled by anything. This movie is complex for the moviegoers to understand. The latest installment of this movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is set for a theatrical release in December 2025. The movie repeats its old protagonists, Jake(Sam Worthington) and Neytiri(Zoe Saldana). Neytiri is still sad by the unexpected demise of her elder son, Neteyam. However, in this movie, Colonel Miles Quaritch, who is the enemy of Jake, joins forces with a fire-controlling clan, the Ash People, who can control fire and burn their enemies. The leader of this clan is Varang.
Zootopia 2
Another upcoming Hollywood movies 2025 is Zootopia 2, is set to premiere before the end of the year. Viewers will see our favorite cops, Judy and Nick, once again. This time, their mission is to save Zootopia from a large snake, a tough challenge as they must apprehend it at any cost. Zootopia 2 is slated for a November 26th release this year.
Avengers: Doomsday
Alongside Zootopia 2, another highly anticipated release in upcoming Hollywood movies 2025 is Avengers: Doomsday.
In Avengers: Doomsday, releasing in December 2026, the Avengers must fight Iron Man, who has become Dr.Doom. This time, Marvel brings together all its superheroes, uniting the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. James Marsden returns as Cyclops, originally killed by Dr. Jean Grey. Other notable X-Men, like Magneto and Dr. Charles Xavier, also appear. New Avengers join, such as Sentry, reportedly more powerful than all previous Avengers. Additionally, Channing Tatum will join as Gambit, a mutant who causes objects he touches to burst. The central villain is Dr. Doom, the ruler of the fictional nation of Latveria in Eastern Europe, an evil genius driven by a facial scar.
Looking ahead, Shrek 5, featuring the ogre couple’s daughter Felicia (voiced by Zendaya), is now expected to release in 2027, following an earlier plan for 2026. The postponement avoids competition with Avengers: Doomsday. Let’s hope all these movies bring back the bursts of excitement in our lives.
