Turkish dramas have become popular all over the world. Every OTT channel is streaming them.

Old Money

For example, Netflix has a show lined up that will be released on 10th October. The name of the show is Old Money(Enfes Bir Akşam). It has a business tycoon named Osman Bulut who falls in love with Nihal. Osman(Engin Akyürek) is a self-made man who received no money in inheritance but has become super-rich through his own efforts. He likes Nihal(Asli Enver), who has wealth in her legacy. Osman wants to own the seaside mansion of Nihal, but in the chase, he falls for her. To seize her mansion, he has even purchased a yacht from her father and lent him some money. But when he can’t design and construct the yacht, Osman asks for the mansion to pay off the debt. Fortunately, Nihal returns from France to design the yacht. But Osman is confused whether he wants the yacht or her mansion. Initially, he rejects the yacht designs by Nihal. But she soon comes to his house with a wine bottle, all dressed up and wins over his family. He decides to give her a second chance at designing the yacht. This is a series about the conflict between nouveau riche like Osman and generational rich people like Nihal.

Black Money Love  

The next show in the list of intriguing yet romantic Turkish dramas on Prime Video is Black Money Love (Kara Para Ask), which is about a man, Ahmed Denizer, and a woman, Sibel found dead in a car, shot in their heads. Sibel’s fiancée, Omer Demir, is a detective who tries to find out who killed her. On the other hand, Ahmed’s middle daughter, Elif( Tuba Büyüküstün), also wants to find the perpetrators of the crime. Elif and Omer find out that Ahmed was using his daughter’s jewelry design business for money laundering. Ahmed’s youngest daughter, Nilufer, is kidnapped by criminals, so Elif must bring the diamonds, which her father stole, to them.

Engin Akyürek, who plays Omer, was even nominated for an International Emmy Award for this show.

My Home, My Destiny

First one is My Home, My Destiny(Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir). This show is about a young girl, Zeynep(Demet Ozdemir), who is born into a poor family. But with luck on her side, the family where her mother works as a house help decides to adopt and raise her. But when she becomes an adult, her mother comes back into her life to claim her. She ensures Zeynep marries as per her choice a guy named Mehdi(Ibrahim Celikkol). Zeynep feels that both she and Mehdi have the same traumatic childhood and falls in love with him. But Mehdi is too possessive about Zeynep, due to which the marriage breaks up. Zeynep decides to abandon Mehdi and get out of the marriage. Mehdi kidnaps Zeynep, and he is shot in the process of rescuing her. In the end, she marries Baris, who is more suited to her education.

Golden Boy

Another show on the list of romantic Turkish dramas is Golden Boy(Yali Capkini), which is about a carefree rich guy, Ferit Kohran(Mert Ramazan Demir). Due to his nonchalant attitude towards life, his grandfather, Halis Agha, decides to get him married so that he can change. His marriage is fixed to Suna, who is the elder daughter of the Şanlı family. Seyran(Afra Saracoglu) is the younger daughter who is more headstrong and wants to choose her own path in life. When Ferit meets Seyran, he is unaware that she is Suna’s sister. He is attracted to her and decides to marry her instead of Suna. Seyran is not interested in marrying him and wants to focus on her education instead. Suna is also upset that her marriage is no longer taking place. Seyran, after marriage, has to fit into a rich family, where she gets fed up with family politics. She also has problems with Ferit’s indifferent attitude towards things. Ferit’s character starts changing after marriage, and he is drawn towards Seyran.
