Bollywood movies have struggled to attract audiences to theaters this year. However, viewers can look forward to highly anticipated releases in the last quarter.

So far, Bollywood movies 2025 have not been able to fulfill the audience’s expectations except for Saiyaara.

But the year is not over now. And Bollywood has an interesting lineup of movies ahead. Here is a list of 2025 upcoming movies Bollywood.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari

The first on my list is Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The movie stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. It is a grand production of Karan Johar. The movie is a romantic comedy and promises to entertain the audience to the hilt. It’s because Varun Dhawan has excellent comic timing. As a comic actor, he is the best this generation has to offer. This movie has an excellent timing of release, also,  as it will be in theaters on October 2, 2025. Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra play supporting characters in the movie. This movie promises to be a full family entertainer. The movie’s trailer has been released and has an ordinary storyline. Girl(Tulsi Kumari) meets boy, another Boy(Sunny Sanskari) meets another girl, relationships break, and both a girl and another boy try to win their partners back. It reminds me of the famous Hollywood classic, “Addicted to Love,” starring Matthew Broderick and Meg Ryan.

Thamma

Thamma, meaning darkness, will feature vampires for the 5th time in India. Ramsay Brothers, known for their horror movies, have already shown Ajay Devgan as a vampire in the movie Band Darwaaza(1990). The audience has high expectations from this movie, Thamma, a horror-comedy produced by Maddock Films. This production house has previously produced movies of this genre, including Stree and its sequel, as well as Bhediya. Ayushmann Khurana is a common middle-class boy Alok, who works as a journalist. Thamma also has the pretty actress Rashmika Mandana playing a vampire(Betal) Tadaka, who falls in love with Alok, who takes the Betal form after he is about to die, and Tadaka injects him with her blood. Apparently, vampires drinking human blood is banned due to the torture inflicted by them on each other in the 1947 riots. However, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a 1000-year-old vampire Yakshasan in this movie who believes that vampires should drink human blood, procreate and rule the world. Apparently, he has been tied with chains for centuries. Siddiqui has added his own comic timing to the character. Bhediya(Varun Dhawan) also has a cameo in the movie. He is badly injured in his fight with the Sarkata. So, he gets a drop of blood from the newly formed Betal Alok. Bhediya becomes a hybrid. Whether Alok can defeat Yakshasan to become the next Thamma(ruler of vampires) or not is to be watched in the movie. This movie has been released on Diwali on 21st October this year. Thamma is proving to be a hit because it has earned 55.15 crores till Thursday, 3 days after its release on Diwali. On the whole, the plot is quite average. This movie is not as entertaining as Sarkata, although it includes Jana(Abhishek Banerjee) as Bhediya’s cousin.

Tere Ishq Mein

Next in the queue is Tere Ishq Mein, which stars the talented Kriti Sanon and Dhanush. The movie is a dark love story. Although the trailer does not reveal much, this movie may draw audiences to the theaters, considering the last love story starring Dhanush, called Raanjhanaa, scored well with the audience. Since the trailer is short and ambiguous, much can’t be said about the storyline of the movie. The film has music created by A.R. Rahman. The movie is set to be released in theaters on November 28, 2025.

Romeo

Shahid Kapoor also has a release scheduled this year. He will be seen in Romeo, which will pair him with Tripti Dimri for the first time. The movie also stars Randeep Hooda in a supporting role. In this movie, Tripti Dimri plays the love interest of Shahid Kapoor.

The movie is going to be interesting with the director being the maverick Vishal Bhardwaj. It is a gangster movie set in the era of 90s. The release date for this movie is also 5th December. Interestingly, it will clash with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar.The last in the slew of Bollywood movies 2025 is Dhurandhar. 

Dhurandhar 

This movie will see Ranveer Singh Bhavnani in action after a long time. He has a fully bearded, long-haired look in this movie, resembling Ranbir Kapoor in the second half of Animal. Based on a real-life story of a spy, the movie is heavy on violence with a lot of bloodshed, with the trailer showing Ranveer killing people in the cruelest ways possible. Accompanying him in this movie is Akshaye Khanna, who gave a riveting performance as the last Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Chhaava. Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt also form a part of the starcast. An interesting role is being played by R.Madhvan, who, as per speculations, is portraying the National Security Advisor of India, Ajit Doval. Apparently, Ranveer is playing Major Mohit Sharma in Dhurandhar, who was deployed as an undercover spy in Pakistan and infiltrated the terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen although these are mere speculations at this stage when the movie has not been released.

So, these are some Bollywood movies 2025 that the audience can wait for.
