Genie: Make a Wish
First on the list is ‘Genie: Make a Wish.’ This is the latest Korean show to hit Netflix. It is the story of a genie named Iblis(Shaitan) who has been locked in his lamp for 983 years. It’s because a girl asked for severe punishment for her and him. He hates this girl because of his imprisonment in the lamp. Then he prays to God to let him meet this girl once more. The name of this girl is Ki Ka Young. Luckily, Ka Young, after her reincarnation, has gone to Dubai, where she discovers the genie’s lamp in the desert. She has no wishes, but she has to ask for them, so that Iblis can kill her. Ki Ka Young is known as a psychopath in her village because she has no emotions. That’s why her mother deserted her, and her maternal grandmother raised her. On the other hand, Iblis’s brother Azrael wants to kill him. This is only possible if Ka Young asks for 3 wishes for others. However, Iblis wishes to corrupt her by making her ask for 3 wishes for herself. The series has 13 episodes, and every episode is more entertaining than the previous one.
Ki Ka Young and Iblis have a past together in which they loved each other. But Iblis can’t recall that past. In her last birth, he was going to help her run away to Goryeo from Arabia. She had reached Arabia in her childhood from Goryeo as a result of human trafficking through Gobi Desert. However, fate had other plans for them. Iblis met a guy named Muttalib who wished for Ki Ka Young to always remain by her side. Ka Young was not interested in him, so he stabbed her. The acting of everyone in this show is superb. Iblis is played by Korean superstar Kim Woo Bin, who has delivered a memorable performance. Even Suzy Bae is great as the psychopath Ki-Ka Young.

The Legend of the Blue Sea
Next on Netflix is the 2nd best romantic Korean drama, Legend of the Blue Sea. It is the story of a mermaid and a common man falling in love. In their past lives, Kim Dam-ryeong(Lee Min Ho) and Se-hwa (Jun Ji-hyun) became friends after she saved him from drowning in the water. But he cannot get married to him because she can’t convert into a human upon stepping on land, which is only possible during the adulthood of a mermaid. As a result, Kim marries someone chosen by his father. But his wife died sometime after marriage. In the end, both Dam-ryeong and Se-hwa die as a result of their enemies. The villagers want to use Se-hwa for extracting pearls because the mermaid tears convert into pearls. Since Kim is the son of a nobleman, he also becomes a nobleman after his father dies.
In their reincarnations, Heo Joon-jae plays a con artist who encounters Shim Cheong when he travels to Spain. She enters his hotel room and does not know anything about how to live on land. He takes her out shopping, and this is how their story begins. Joon Jae had fled from his house a long time back when his father married for a 2nd time and preferred his stepson over him. After running away from his father’s house, he searches for his mother, Mo Yoo-ran, but is unable to find her. This series is one of the best pieces of work of Lee Min Ho.
King: The Eternal Monarch
This story is about the King of Corea, Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho), who gets a chance to travel to another world, the Republic of Korea. There, everyone fails to recognize him. A police officer Tae-eul arrests him and thinks he is delusional because he thinks he is the King. So, he goes away to his own kingdom in another world. All this multiverse travel becomes possible through a magical flute, Manpasikjeok. Tal-eul misses him and travels back to his world, where she is saved by him. She travels to Lee Gon’s world through a portal in a bamboo forest. Both Lee Gon and Tae-eul can’t live together because he can’t leave his kingdom, and she can’t leave her job of being a cop. How they manage this romance across parallel universes can be seen in this serial.
My Demon
This series is about an arrogant business owner, Do Do-Hee(Kim Yoo-jung), who has a demon Jeung Gu-won (Song-kang) fall for her. They enter into a contract marriage, but soon sparks fly between them.
Business proposal
This is also the best romantic Korean drama in which a woman, Shin Ha-ri, decides to go on a date instead of her friend. When she goes on the date, she discovers that he is no one but her company’s CEO Kang Tae-moo. Both Shin Ha-ri and her friend Jin Young-seo decide to come up with this plan because Young-seo has a desire to be rejected. It is a rom-com involving fake identities. Tae-moo, who is fed up with blind dates, decides that Ha-ri will be his marriage partner without knowing that she is not Young-seo.
Boys over Flowers
It is one of the best romantic Korean dramas featuring Lee Min Ho, where he plays the proud and spoiled heir, Gu Jun-pyo, of the Shinhwa group. A commoner, Guem Jan-di, joins the Shinhwa High school and discovers that the school is run by a group of boys, F4, whose leader is Gu Jun-Pyo. This group issues a red card to certain students, and when this happens, the entire school starts bullying them. Jan-di’s life in school is made miserable by Gu Jun-Pyo because she saves her friend from licking his boots, who accidentally drops ice cream on them. Slowly, Jun-Pyo falls in love with Jan-di, who takes time to reciprocate. He plays a lot of pranks on her, like spreading the fake rumor that she is pregnant. This turns out to be the last straw for Jan-Di, and she hits Gu Jun-Pyo.
